MTG Mexico Tour Guide

About Kev

I live in the places you're about to visit.

I'm not a tour operator with a roster of drivers. I'm one person — certified, based at Cancún, obsessed with the Yucatán Peninsula — who takes a small number of people to places most guides have never seen.

The guide

Kev

I'm based at Cancún international airport — which means every trip starts the moment you land. I split my time between the Caribbean coast and the interior of the Yucatán Peninsula: cenotes, ruins, fishing villages on the Gulf coast, jungle roads that don't appear on Google Maps.

I've been guiding here since before most of these cenotes had Instagram accounts. The places I take people are not secrets anymore, but the way I take them there is. We time entries to miss crowds. We take routes that aren't on any tour bus itinerary. We stop when something is worth stopping for.

Outside of guiding, I make documentary footage across Mexico and the Caribbean — which means I know how to frame a shot, find the light, and get out of a location before it gets crowded. If you want footage of your trip, I can help with that too.

I free-dive. I've dived the Sisal wreck more times than I can count. If you want to get underwater in the cenote system or along the reef, I know which dive camp to take you to and exactly how to get you in safely.

What makes this different

Why private matters

No fixed itinerary

Every trip is built around you. One couple wants to free-dive. A family wants to explain cenote geology to their kids. A content creator needs 60 seconds of footage. I adapt.

No crowds

I know when every major cenote gets its tourist buses. We enter before them or after them. You will not be swimming next to 200 strangers in a wetsuit.

The filmmaker's eye

I frame shots. I know the light at 7am in Ik-Kil vs 11am. If you want to leave with real footage of the Yucatán, that knowledge is included.

Local knowledge — actual local

I'm not reading from a script about Mayan history. I live in these places, eat in them, know the people who run them. The stories I tell are the real ones.
